LAPERS 2009 Seminar
The 21st Annual Louisiana
Association of Public Employees’ Retirement Systems (LAPERS) Seminar held in New
Orleans September 20-23, 2009 was a great success.
LAPERS’ goal is to use this forum to
provide a place to exchange information, ideas, and experiences related to
public retirement issues.
The agenda includes a variety of topics from those
suggested by our membership.
This year, those included the impact of the economy
on pension funds, board governance, and federal and state legislative updates.
Special guest speakers are also featured.
Both LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri and Political
Consultant James Carville were called on to share their remarks.
